I was in such a dream state when I ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon, I didn’t fully appreciate Prospect Park’s beauty. Well, this morning I took in the views throughout my entire 6.7 mile run. I feel so lucky to live so close! I can’t wait to take my bike for a spin.
Prospect Park is the best!
Thank you DJ @nyrr Al Gordon Classic for playing “New York Groove” at the finish line. That’s now my theme song for 2013. I’m back.
So sign-ups open and closed for the Brooklyn Half Marathon yesterday. I missed this race one year, and vowed not to let it ever happen again, so I was at the ready as soon as registration opened. It’s a great race at a great time of year (May) in the best NYC borough. But of course, there is “the hill” in Prospect Park. If you run in the park, or have run the Brooklyn Half before, you know this dreaded hill well. If you’ve never experienced it, see the picture above, taken at about the half-way point of the incline. I guess it’s not SO bad, but regardless, it’s good to know it exists on the course. Nothing worse then coming upon an uphill and having no idea how far and long you’ll be trudging up it.
